These meters are ideal for billing electricity consumption provided they have been designed to comply with National Measurement Institute (NMI) standards for billing accuracy, complying with NMI M6-1.
Australian standards effective 1st January 2013, require any energy meter intended for billing must be approved by NMI. This means not all energy meters can be used for electricity billing purposes unless they comply with local standards.
